Exercise: Benefits of Regular Physical Activity
It is hard to ignore the benefits to your health that are a result of regular exercise: feel better, have more energy, possibly add years to your life. It doesn’t matter how young or not so young you are, no matter what your age, sex, or physical ability, your life can improve with regular physical activity.
Check out these seven ways regular physical activity can improve your life.
No. 1: Exercise controls weight - increased physical activity equals more calories burned.
No. 2: Exercise combats health conditions and diseases - by boosting good cholesterol and decreasing triglycerides.
No. 3: Exercise improves mood - by boosting various chemicals in the brain.
No. 4: Exercise boosts energy - by delivering needed oxygen and nutrients to help your cardiovascular system work more efficiently
No. 5: Exercise promotes better sleep - just don’t exercise too close to bedtime or you may be too energized to sleep.
No. 6: Exercise puts the spark back into your sex life -
No. 7: Exercise can be fun - get out and do something you enjoy. Get family and friends involved.
The bottom line:
With regular physical activity you will feel better, gain better health, and have some fun. Try to get out and get moving at least 30 minutes per day. If you don’t have the time to do all 30 minutes at once or don’t feel you can do 30 minutes at the beginning, try for 10 minutes three times during the day.
Please check with your doctor before starting a new program, especially if you have any health concerns.
